I suppose the most obvious thing to look for in a good quality bed is the comfort factor. Who wants a stylish bed with luxurious linen, and soft pillows only to find out that when you want to retire for the night you cannot drop off to sleep because your bed is so uncomfortable?
So to get the comfort factor choose a good quality mattress that suits your needs. Mattresses vary greatly. People who suffer with back problems tend to go for a firm mattress, whilst others prefer a soft mattress that they can sink in to. Another option could be a memory foam mattress which is supposed to mould to your body. If memory foam is too expensive for you why not try a memory foam topper for your existing mattress instead.
Once you have chosen your mattress you can then buy your bed frame to suit. A lot of people prefer a divan bed with built in storage. This type of bed is ideal if space is of optimum importance to you. Another factor with divan beds is that there is a large range of headboards available that you can simple slot onto the back of the bed in designated hooks.
Good quality beds should also have a good strong frame. A lot of beds now come unassembled so it makes it easier for you to get them into your home. Some firms may even assemble these for you in your own home for a small fee if you do not feel competent to do so yourself. Frames should be sturdy and not wobble when you touch them. Frames come in a variety of materials ranging from wood or metal. If you purchase a wooden bed then the mattress will probably sit on a slated wood base, which will be screwed into the frame to stop it sliding around. If metal is your preference you will either get metal poles or a spring base to place the mattress on. If neither of these type of frames suit, you can get a bespoke bed made for you. This may work out a little more expensive but you will at least get the bed you want. View Full Article »
